SMART OR SPLASH?

Why must it be either or?  Couldn't it be a Smart Splash?

I must say as a fan I wanted some splash.  If you are going to jump in with both feet you'll have to make some splash. But so far no splash and I really haven't seen the smart yet.

Yes there was a splash of new ownership and Kahn made a splash with all his ideas and plans but as for smart on coaching staff that has to proven with time.

I will be a the meet the owner and coach tonight and if I really have a chance to ask a question or two this is what I want to know.

1. What did Mr. Kahn mean when he said that "they wanted to make a Derby out of It"?  Referring to coaches with a Name.

2. Although you are tied with Gene and Mike would you stay with them to the end of their contract even though they do poorly?  Or would you use them as an excuse to move the team?

3. You have said it is a two way street meaning the fans have to support the team, but do you expect the fans to support a losing team that show no improvement from the previous regime?

4. Aren't you selling yourself short by saying you are just a fan? Fans know quite a lot and they know what works and what doesn't.  Put yourself in the fans shoes and think how we have had to endure a losing team and losing organization for a long time.

5.  Can you say that at least we will make a splash in the draft and in free agency player? Can you tell me you believe we need to develop another QB to back up Gabbert?

6.  Will you take part in the Draft? The upcoming draft will really show if we are headed in a new direction or not. I don't know anyone who agreed with the previous draft choices.

NEW HEAD COACH SELECTED

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

OK so it's not spelled the same and let's hope that "a lot of Mike Mularkey'  is a good thing for the Jaguars.

I was surprised at the choice and still don't know what to think of it. Only time will tell. I'm anxious to see who he chooses for his stall, especially OC,  DC and QB coach. Of course I am also very interested in the draft this year. I think they should draft a QB to bring along as competition for Blaine and as a backup.

Because I am not convinced that Gene Smith is a good GM, I think that Mike should be given a matching contract of 3 years.

The one thing that some think is a negative about Mike is that he resigned from Buffalo because of the direction the organization was taking. I see this a a plus. The head coach has to have a vision, like any good leader, and if others do not go with it I, I think it is better to quit than go along with something you don't believe in.

GOOD LUCK MIKE!

HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?

OK all you guys who went along with the so called experts...HOW DO YOU LIKE TEBOW NOW?
I know you won't admit you are wrong but you sure have been quiet lately.
If anyone can't see how good he would have been for this franchise they are not thinking clearly and are only following what they rad. I don't think he is a one time wonder either because he works too hard and and love the game. He will endure. God Bless you Tim.

I have always felt that the front office of the Jaguars were dealing with less than a full deck. they have been taking a ride at our expense. I do give Mr. Weaver and his associates many kudos for getting Jax a team but they got spoiled at first and didn't mind the store after having early success.

You just have to read the Jaguars news on Jacksonville.com. They really are doing a great job keeping up with the news. They are the source and will be unless Jaguars.com  gets more current and deeper.in reporting. I have some links here for some great articles etc. on the Jaguars, The Weavers and Time Tiebow all on Jacksonville.com.  Check hem out.

One final word on Choices made...What kind of an organization listens to the fans?  The front office is suppose to know better than the fan and when they do things that work out good they get the confidence of the fans.  When they make bad decisions then , well you know what happens .

You are not going to believe the story of a possible $40 million TYPO Paul Vance made.

NEW JAGUARS GAME DAY

Today I read some of Mr. Kahn's ideas he has for the Jaguars. I was really impressed, as I have with everything this man has said and done. Maybe I want to believe in him, but whatever I am sold that he is going to make it happen and I'm excited. Go to Jaguars.com  link below and read for yourself.

http://www.jaguars.com/news/article-1/Standing-on-their-own/974b4a79-01e2-4f14-9251-bc33739dc7a4

If I could make one little suggestion to help with the game day experience, of course I am full of ideas, it would be to get an announcer that is unique.  Not like arena football loud and hard rock like but one that knows the game well and has a personality that is entertaining and exciting. Some one who is professional and can relate to the fans. This would be a well spent dollar in my estimation. Maybe two guys like regular games one for color and one for play by play.

He's absolutely correct when he says that the game day experience has to so good that people want to come instead of sitting at home and watching on TV.

I know Mr. Kahn has been asking everyone of their views etc.  Next I hope he reaches out to the fans to get some more thoughts.

In closing I would like to say..........
IF YOU ARE FOR STATUS QUO YOU HAVE TO GO!

FIRST 100 DAYS

Just like when the new President of the United States takes office we will all be hungry for news from the new CEO of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The signs have been hung out at Everbank Field and candidates are lining up for positions in the New Administration.

What will be the first action taken TODAY............. the first day of the next 100 DAYS. I am so hungry for some news just like all fans. With the football season ending soon we all need some kind of fix to help us with the withdrawal symptoms.

I was kind of disappointed wit the news that Jeff Fisher was interviewed in Miami. a lot of fans here think he is a good choice. Even Fred Taylor thinks so. One of my reason is that he did more with less than any recent coach. He had no home for awhile moving from stadium to stadium etc.,but with all that  he consistently produced winners.

I also want to take this time to explain myself to some of you. Please keep in mind that a lot of the stuff I write is tongue in cheek so don't get too upset with me. I love this team and I bleed Teal or I wouldn't even bother. I love going to the games and if they would offer a 50/50 plan I would go for it. Shoot I would even go for a 100 games / 100 months payment.  How about you?

If I was able to get Mr. Kahn's ear I would tell him to be S of NAME coaches. think about Dan Snyder, Did Gibbs work out? did Sspurrie work? Do you think that Mike Shanahan doing?  Even the BIG TUNA as GM in Miami is not doing well. So a NAME doesn't guarantee anything

As I have said before Mel Tucker could have the right stuff with him being able to choose his own staff. I believe that players will play for him and given an equal vote with Gene Smith on player issues and draft choices, I thin he deserves a chance. He deserves as much of a chance as Gen Smith was given since Gene was highly involved in player choices.

Now remembering what kind of guy I am I leave you with a photo of Blaine Gabbert in the shotgun formation.

I'm some what kidding here bu we all have had this feeling. I hope and pray this guy can make it, because if he doesn't we have another big problem here in Jax.

SEEKING

OK now has anyone thought of this? After targeting different MALE S for the Head Coaching job maybe the Jags can look for and at least interview a FEMALE.

Now here's one that is a coach in D.C, at Coolidge High. Maybe she doesn't have a lot of experience yet for the Pro's  but let's not exclude the possibilites that there is one out there.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and

Well it was an idea but I can't find any other that could interview.

OPEN LETTER TO MR. KAHN

Mr. Kahn here are some things I would like to suggest. I understand that I am only a fan,but I have been a fan since 1957 the year I graduated from high school.  I have seen more football then some of the coaches today have and I have seen things that work and things that don't.

I don't know how you can implement the feeling that the fans are like stock holders but that is a goal that will pay off big. Everyone says that the players have to "buy into the vision" and that's correct but don't forget the fans have to buy into the plan also. The fan needs to feel like he is really a part of the team. We need to keep the 30/30 plan and maybe even add a 100/100 plan. I would buy into that. The fans need a voice and to know that that voice is being heard at the TOP.

The Jaguars really have no tradition yet and we are in need of something unique to our organization. Of course a WINNING tradition would be first on all of our list but after that we need something else. Taking the best from college football and adding it to the pro game could be a marching band. I went to the Gator Bowl yesterday and the atmosphere of a band just goes with football. Mr. Marshall understood this when he started the Redskins band. I would sponser a seat and I'm sure that others would do the same. Maybe Kahn Bumpers would sponser a band. Yes...Kahn's Bumper Band including the D-Line would be nice.

Now my thinking on a Head Coach. I beleve if you keep Gene Smith then you should give Mel Tucker a 3 year stint to go along with Smith's contract. this is not my choice however. I would not keep Gene Smith because he was involved in all the bad draft choices too. Yes he found a couple of good ones but the odds are he would. what ever happens in the next few years will be blamed on him. the real problem with keeping Smith is the Head Coach and GM relationship is critical. To ask a coach to come in under a GM that he may not favor is a gamble. the HC / GM should be one in person or act as one person. This opinion has no bearing on Mr. Tucker.

In the upcoming draft we must get some quality WR's as everyone knows. I suggest that we also draft a QB or two, because I am far from sold on Gabbert. Gabbert to me is not an athlete. He stumbles and bumbles and looks like he is scared to death of getting hit.
Compare to other rookis this year he is by far the worst. Maybe he's a good practice player in that case we can keep him for just that purpose. You need a tough guy for QB. Despite some of his short falls Garrard was a tough guy and maybe you remember that Joe Thiesman returned punts and kickoffs to get on the field with the Skins.

Every fan I know is excited and hopeful that you Mr. Kahn will be a great owner and give us something special to celeb
