THE PLAY BY PLAY REPORT

I had a lot of good responses to my new helmet design but I don't think that putting great fear into our opponents will help. All the team of the NFL have no fear of our offense and little respect for our  defense.

OK so I was going to give you the play by play of the game.
I bought some 50/50 tickets for charity and then got my photo taken and got a free bottle opener and a towel and a t-shirt. This was the fun part in the south end of the stadium.

Then a ride on the escalator to the Bud Light Zone for a pulled pork sandwich with BBQ baked beans. The baked beans are the best I have ever tasted.

There was a great breeze in the stadium as we walked to our seats in the North End Zone. We were early as usual and sat in the sun enjoying the pre-game stuff.

The game started and everyone was hopeful and full of good cheer and just knowing something good was going to happen today.

By the second quarter the breeze stopped and I started to fry to a nice crispy gold and I decided I should go up and get some shade and another water. I looked around for a place to sit and thought the steps going out looked like a good place. I went a bought some french fries and took my water and sat on the cool concrete steps and found that nice breeze again that was missing from the fry bowl.

I sat and ate half my french fries and then decided it must be half time and I should go back. I asked a woman coming up from the bowl and asked if I had missed anything and she said NO. On my way back down to my seat I stopped and talked to a couple of friends I use to sit near.

I sat down and half time was just over and I found that Sue my friend discovered some drunk lady behind us had stolen our bag of shirts, free sun glasses etc. The cops threw her out. I think she was on drugs. So I did miss something after all. Well things went south in a hurry as they usually do on Jax so with about 5 minutes to go in the third quarter we left to come home.

The traffic that was suppose to be had, was actually no problem at all. I got home in time to take a nice nap.

THE GAME?    OH  yes I almost forgot we lost again

IT IS WHAT IT IS !

I like this phrase and I use it a lot and yesterday I used it to tell myself the Jaguars "are what they are."  As fans we are usually optimistic at the beginning of the season and then after the first game we suddenly realize "They aren't who we thought they were."

Who would've thought that the big problem area would be the Offensive Line?  If anyone thought so they sure didnt' say anything, in fact everyone thought that was our strong point.....ooops.

Offensive Coordinator  has his work cut out for him.  I could suggest a little more imagination in play calling. To slow the pass rush I would go with 5 receivers from the shotgun and spread the field. I don't care if we only have 5 yards per catch, but at least we won't go 3 and out. The normal scheme is not working and needs more practice, in the mean while it would be nice to control the ball a little bit to give out defense a rest.

Well I guess we have now figured out that the Jaguar Team "Is what it is. All that is left to find out is....

p.s.   I like Henne's play as the game progressed. He has more pocket awareness then Go Go Gabbert. He was stepping up into the pocket and making plays. Good job Henne,

ANOTHER 2 AMD 14 SEASON

ARE YOU READY FOR ANOTHER 2 AND 14 SEASON?

Well you better be, because that is what I predict for this team. I can't see anything better than this record. The two games we win will be won by the Defense.

I predict that Go Go and Gus Gus will part ways and we may end the season with Ricky Bob Boy as QB. I predict that Hen Hen will be injured also and be lost for the last 5 games.

There will also be a brief try with D Rob as QB which will cause some flaces but we will still lose.

Kahn Kahn will have to shave off his Trade Mark mustache because of a bet he makes while in London. Dave Dave will talk privately with Tim Tim but it only is a rumor.

There will be more fights in the stands, but not with opposing fans but between Jag fans who have decided to take out there frustrations with the person in front of them for cheering too much. What the .... are you cheering for? Can't you see it's over.

Kahn Kahn will contact Pa Pa John to see if free pizzas for everyone will help to appease the fans. There will be a new slogan formed to encourage fans. "Come and see some of the best teams in the NFL play at Everbank."

For a couple of home games the Roar Roar will join the Drum Drum Corps and do a Honky Tonk dance routine that Will cause an arrest of all the young ladies by the Decency Authority of Jacksonville.

Well maybe it won't be such a bad home stand after all even if we lose all home games.

WHAT HAVE WE BOUGHT INTO?

Have you ever seen the air go out of a balloon so fast as it did yesterday?  It was unbelievable. We got a blocked punt in the first series and it looked like we were going to kick some butt. Then Go Go Gabbert came on the scene and it was down hill from there. Besides that the 2 points scored was the only score we had. I think we only had about 2 first downs.  So what have we bought into? A Lemon an Edsel(for you who are old enough to remember what an Edsel was. It is still to be determined what we are going to get.

There is one thing that NOBODY has bought into and that is the selling of Gabbert. I call him GO GO Gabbert because I wish he would go some where and try a different business. He is a thumb sucking cry baby that actually has as much guts as a little girl. Oh poor baby hurt himself. Go Go get out of here. Do really know of anyone who really thinks this guy is even a third stringer?  I'm not buying thank you very much. Get his eyes checked to see if he is color blind or maybe he keeps them closed when the pass rush comes. He use to cower so not maybe he shuts his eyes.

Everyone at the game was wishing it was 2014 and we had the swimming pool in the north end zone. It was murder as we knew it would be in the toaster bowl. I think I could smell flesh burning. I spent the whole second quarter under the fans and on the cold seats in the3 concourse by the firs aid station. A lot of people did the same. We were not missing anything on the field. Why the NFL doesn't do something about the 1o'clock games being played in the south is beyond me. There should only be 4 o'clock games or night games played in the deep south cities without domes. This makes sense to me. Think about the reverse of this, wouldn't it be better to play 1o'clock games in Green Bay and NY when the cold temp would be a little better than at 4 o'clock?  I guess it doesn't make sense because they go by another sense and that is market shares etc. We can only hope that someone gets the bright idea of changing times according to weather patterns. Huh?

OK now for the food vendors. Get real! You also had the preseason to get ready and you still can't do it right. What the heck happened to the BIG WATER bottles. Now all you can buy is the small ones. Not smart. Salted French Fries are a second half treat for me. I think the salt helps to keep me hydrated, but @ $5 I think it comes out to a little under 50 cents per fry. I was going to count them but I put ketchup on them before I got the idea. Best bet although more expensive is the bar in the Bud Lite Zone. Pulled Ck or Pork with baked beans...really good. Last year they had Ruben and I hope they bring that back.

I still have fun but I could have more fun on metal bleachers and cold sandwich if the Team was winning. Heck I would even sit on the grass if the team was playing good. So much for GAME DAY experience.

WE ARE!

TAKING THE PULSE

GUS BRADLEY has his finger on the pulse of the Jaguars along with Dave Caldwell and it shows in every interview.
I really like this guy. He speaks "coach speak" like no other coach I have heard before. Gus seems to know every player really well, well enough to discuss it openly.
There is no politician that I can see in this man at all. He is a breath of fresh air. With the first loss we will all see how he changes if he does. I don't think he will change and get defensive like so many coaches. I believe that he will simply state what went wrong and why even if it reflects on the coaching.
I've said it before and I believe it is not "business as usual" of defending players and circumstances but calling what it is and then finding other players  or coaches to perform better.
For example the signing of 7 of the waver wire after the 53 was thought to be intact. This really shows attention to detail and going after something a grade higher than what you settled on. Maybe there is only a .10 faster speed or a .30 more experience, whatever this was a truly BOLD move and speaks volumes for the desire to get better.

I'll be there to lead the team out.....sort of.... when we open with KC, which by the way should be an interesting game seeing that both had bad seasons last year and have new coaches etc.
