Right as Rain

httpJaguars.com
Blaine in the rain....that was the highlight of the game. It shows what he can do. As for the Offensive  Game plan in the last two games I wonder what they are doing. All of a sudden it looks like the whole scheme is changing and we are trying to be a pass happy team?

I don't get it? The only thing wrong with the O before was Garrard held the ball too long and wasn't very accurate on some plays.  Don't trow the baby out with the bath water Jack and Dirk.

I really wanted to come down hard on Del Rio, but he was so positive on the post game interview that I just couldn't dump on him. I still think that he is one who is going to be told "It's GO TIME!" at the end of the season, but maybe it's my age but I seem to be softening some what lately. If he leaves I wish him well and I do believe he will leave. He has had 9 seasons to do something. That's a long term for a coach.

Jones-Drew and Mike Thomas are still my favorite play makers and Lewis is right there too. We have a big task facing us Sunday at Home against the Saints/ Drew B. has chewed us up the last time we played him. I hope the defense has learned to handle the West Coast type of Offense. I think they can do it.

GO Jaguars.....play hard and have fun.

OPENING DAY 9/11/2011

It was a great day with a lot of emotions running high. It's always nice to see a large crowd turn out for the games. The more Jag fans that come the better so we don't have to listen to the opposing teams dumb fans. Well anyway the Titan fans had little to scream about and went away quietly into the boiling hot sun.

Whew was it hot. At half time I went to the men's room and soaked my head under the facuet. Then I got the bright idea to fill my hat with water and then put it on. I did this several times. It worked! Ever since the hottest game ever, two years ago the Stadium people got wise and put out free water stations as well as some mist machines for the fans. One consession stand still ran out of water. Shame on you Outback.

Oh yeah the game! It's been a long time since I have seen the Jaguars open up with such a fast start. The defense is coming along pretty good. I sure love a good "D". I like the new linebacker Paul P. #51 he's a real plus. #27 Mathis is trying harder but the fans greeted him with mixed cheers and boos. You definitely could hear the boos. No matter what Del Rio says the fans don't like him anymore.

Luke did good but I was a little surprised that he didn't throw more passes. It's early so I will hold off on judgement of the O C Dirk. If you can run the ball do so, but if it's shot down you have to have a good and acurate passer and I think Luke will fit the bill.

Cograts to the team . Now let's go show the Jets how to play ball.

go Jags!
The view from my seat......AWESOME!

NEW ERA STARTS

Now with David Garrard gone a new era begins.  How long it lasts is the question. Will last for only one season and then Del Rio leaves? There's a  good chance that will happen.

The way I see the problem with the Jaguars is this. The problem wasn't so much Garrard as it was the coaches inability to create  plays that would utilize David's strengths  The coaches were not inventive enough to draw up plays that would make David a threat on every play. Instead they tried to make him fir into their standard playbook. I realize that this is not an easy thing to do and only a very good coaching staff could pull it off.

Remember when Mrs. Garrard told the coaches to let David play his game? They did for a couple of games and then went back to the old stuff even though it worked. They did the same thing with the defense. they played the 3 / 4 for a game or two and quit on that. Greg Williams who everyone thinks is a genius was here and if I remember right we beat the Colts with that defense and then the next game we lost so the experiment was over and so was Williams.

I called for LUKE last year in Aug. http://jag-wars.blogspot.com/2010/08/we-want-luke-click-on-link-jacksonville.html  He is a true pocket passer and very actuate
I think he will do well and because he is good with the quick pass and the deep ball we should have more success overall.
