UPHILL BATTLE

A million thanks to Mr. Wayne Weaver and family. It was an uphill battle all the way from getting the team (more like a miracle) to keeping the team here.

Because of Weaver's character I trust him that the team will stay here. I just don't know Kahn.  Kahn may be as Wayne described him but he has no record as an owner. The trust I have for Kahn comes only grom the say so of Mr. Weaver and that helps somewhat.

I was a baseball fan until Bob Short packed up the Senators and left Washington D.C.  I have not got attached to any baseball team since then.  Jim Irsay bussed one of the best football teams, the colts, out of Baltimore in the middle of the night.

These experiences have left me with a helpless feeling when Billionaire owners control the fan base and the city. It's rather unfair to everyone and that is why it is so ;important to have an owner that has the character and is trustworthy like Mr. Weaver.

The uneasy feeling I have about owners is increased when the owner has no partners. Just as I was starting to think about a city owned team such as the Packers this happens. It would be nice if the city and the fans were shareholders in the team. I don't know how this could be achieved but I think the results would bear good fruit.

The closest we could get to that in Jax is for the public to buy into the team by getting and keeping season tickets. If the residents invest in the team there will be no need for the team to leave and that will continue to benefit the city in revenues and progress.

That is the fans part and now for the city. The city can't try to take advantage of this success and charge more stadium rent. We have to minimize greed to keep the team and the city.

FAREWELL

As you all know I have been very critical of the Jaguar owner and organization but my it was never personal. I like Wayne weaver and I like Jack Del Rio as hard working sincere people.

Thank you Mr. Weaver for bring and keeping an NFL team in Jacksonville. This was not an easy task and it has not been an easy task to keep one here.

Please football fans buy into this team by supporting it by buying season tickets.

Jack you did as good as you could and I know you tried hard. The best to you in the future.

As I said I have been critical to be sure but it's a fans right to complain or work off his frustrations.

It's like this although I gripe and complain , I also cheer and cheer loud at the games. It's also like this.....Without an NFL team here in Jax I'm not so sure I would stay here now that I have been spoiled by being able to go to the games.

NOW WHAT?..PUNT?

Wayne  ... Does this have to happen before you see the light?

It's quite clear now that this organizations is really screwed up. they have put a lot of effort into selling tickets but they have no idea how to build a team. Putting together a team seems to be an after thought. Maybe this works in the shoe business but not in the NFL.

Not long ago we were told that they were going to build through the draft. HUH? Then they go out and get at least 5 free agents (this was the only thing good to happen lately). Although this move was good because the defense is playing good, I still don't like the fact they say one thing and do another.
Del Rio does the blame shifting thing when asked about the game time management.

There is an old saying " Coaches coach and Players play". Here in Jax we only have Players playing. If we really had some coaches / teachers / developers maybe a lot of those failed draft choices would still be playing. I thin this point is proven by the fact that all those defensive players came in as veterans and with out an ounce of training or instruction (because of the lock-out) they played great. This can not be contributed to coaching.

The really big screw-up of the century is not drafting Tebow. If WW is not kicking himself in the backside , even in private, then he really is out of touch. Everyone would agree that Tebow would sell tickets and bring much needed media attention to Jax. Now it also shows that he is doing pretty good as a second year QB. Ask yourself this question.....right now ...who would you buy a ticket to go and see: Tebow or Gabbert??? If the reasoning was that Tebow was too raw and gauged to not ready, then how is Gabbert comparing now?

The first order of business to fix this mess here is a complete house cleaning and for WW hand over football operations to someone who really knows football business and let him choose a GM and then the GM will choose a coach. It has been proven that there is no stock within the organization to promote.
When the going gets tough the tough get going....so Wayne fire Del Rio to start and shop for a director of football operations. The fans and the city will respect you and for once trust in your judgement.

THE CURSE OF DOUBLE LETTERS

wise man say do not draft or trade for a player with double letters in his name!

the Jaguars should have listen to this advise. WHY?

Garrard, Reggie, Miller, Reggie (yes twice, Barlow and Nelson) , Matt Jones, Jennings, Dirk Koetter, Johnny Cox (WR coach) Mike Sheppard (QB coach)  Too many coaches to mention with double letters in their names. and then there is WW ( wayne Weaver)  OK I'm stretching it some what. Now what do you think that Gabberts chances are? Or LB Allen, or Sessions?

Strange names are also bad.like  Leftwich who has ever heard that name before. or even Del Rio, Wasn't there a porn star with that name? Now do you remember Jerry Porter he was a bust like free agent Hugh Douglas ( You just can't double up u's and g's...that's real bad sign. what about RJ  Ssourard The R stood for Reggie  J stood for Jerry what a killer .

The ears of good players ended when Jimmy Smith quit in favor of doing other things like....well you know.

Is Meester doing good? how about Luke McCown

Of course there is always the except to the rule like Scobee and some tohers but all I am saying is before the Jags draft or trade they should chick for double letters in the persons name they are considering.

I hope Gabbert is one of those exceptions but if I was him I would hire my own QB coach in the off season and then when the season starts ignore the Jags QB coach and O coach.

TOO SOON?

Is it too soon to start picking on Gabert?  I haven't said anything yet except he needs to step into his passes and he could use some receivers.

Now let me see......what was the reason we didn't draft Tebow?
His passing skills were not good...is that right?  or did Wayne Weaver know that this coaching team can not teach draft choices....oh yeah what became of building by the draft?  The only good players , except for MJD are the new defensive player we got on the free market.  They Jags front office is not to be believed.

When I think of Blaine Gabbert I think of Larry Brown of the Redskins. They found out that he had a hearing problem and hooked him up with a hearing aid and from there on out he was great.  I think I know how we can fix Gabberts problem too.

LOOKING GOOD NOW GABBERT

IS WW KICKING HIMSELF RIGHT NOW?

Tebow Magic

Tebow is a good player and has a lot of heart and is determined to be a good QB.
How many more season ticket would have been sold last year and this year and next year by the Jaguars drafting Tebow? I imagine there would be sell outs for the 3 years. The media attention was never in doubt, which the Jags seriously need.  The only thing is could this coaching staff be inventive enough to design an offense for Tebow.

I say NO this coaching staff has not shown they can design anything for the players they have. Almost all draft choices have failed HERE. Maybe WW realized this and that is why he didn't go for Tebow.  What have we got now? A good young player Gabbert who will now be used as a round peg in a square hole.  Remember Garrard?  What happened when for about two games they tried to let him be himself.

Point in case: the Defense is doing good this year, not because of the coaching but because we bought players who need now coaching.

That's my take on this POOR BUSINESS DECISION BY THE JAGS.

MONEY OR COACHING?

Have we discovered what really makes the Jaguars go? It seems pretty evident to me that we have. WW spent about 120 million in the off season to get 4 players on defense that have shown that they don't need any training camp or coaching to be good. Paying out the Big Bucks to get these guys just shows waht money can still do in this salary capped legues.

To prove my point I am going to ask WW to spend the same amount next year on some top WR's through the draft or whatever. This $$$$ will get us a playoff berth or even a Super Bowl. Is this what you desire Mr. Wayne Weaver? If so isn't it obvious what you need to do "COME ON MAN" buy us some players.
