JUST IN !

Jaguars QB David Garrard is having surgery, not on his eyes like I said, but for his finger and will be out for the game Sunday. I really see this as JDR's way of saying you're finished with this team. Get your finger fized and we will trade you next month. With Trent Edwards in as QB this could be a real shoot-out and I think we can win and be encouraged for nest year too.

GAME PLAN VS. TEXANS

1. TAKE THE BALL IF YOU WIN THE COIN TOSS
2.  PASS TO OPEN UP THE RUN
3.  BLITZ LIKE CRAZY
4.  HAVE FUN

MY OBSERVATIONS

HERE'S A LIST OF THINGS I HAVE OBSERVED THIS YEAR.

The players were more media friendly
The Jaguars site had more videos
We had a lot of exciting games.
The team played as a team and hung in the game
Pot Roast became a star
Mike Thomas because a star
Mercedes was great
MJD was awesome
LB Smith was good
Cox came on this year
Mathis needs to go
Garrard needs to go
What happened to Zack Miller?
G Jones has to go
30 / 30 plan was good
Alualu is coming along
Still need Safeties
Still need a QB
Need more run and receiveing from FB
Need LB's and DE's that can beat Manning
If we build to beat the Colt's we will do well
If one coach goes they all have to go

SHOULD HE STAY?

SHOULD JDR STAY?

This may surprise a lot of people but I think that Jack should stay. One of the reason is that he cleaned house and got players that want to play as a team. I really think that they will play for him and like how he treats them.I think it is Jack that gets them back to playing their roles correctly after they have gone astray and try to do too much. He doesn't really do the "Blame Game" in public and the players like that. I'm not sure but maybe he has gotten the players to talk more to the public and media, thereby making them more accountable to the fans. Does anyone understand this?  Here is what I have noticed. In the past the players were isolated and thereby  were not accountable to the fans because they were isolated and thereby protected. The players have to be out there for the fans and if they are they have yet another reason to play well. At least that is what I think. Who ever is responsible for this did a good thing. It really got the fans more involved. One other thing good about JDR is that he finally started to use Garrard in a better way, using his talents to run.

Now for Garrard as to if he should stay or go. I say GO! I think he has trade value and we should trade him soon. He has proven that he can not change some of his bad habits. He still and always has held the ball too  long. He can not look of a defender but looks to the receiver the whole way. David reminds me of a boxer that closes his eyes and hopes he hits his opponent. Good by David you tried your best but it's not good enough.

DISAPPOINTED?

Don’t hang your head Jaguars !  Yes I’m disappointed at the loss but not at the effort and the teams spirit. This team has shown real character that you don’t see on any other team. Think back to the game where we had six turn-overs. We didn’t fold then and the game where it took a “Hail-Mary” to win or just last week when we came back with a kick return and a great run. This is a team that just keeps plugging away and I am proud to be a fan.

Oh yeah I was on David’s case and JDR’s case at the beginning of the year. I got upset with how they were playing David and how they didn’t seem to be on the same page. I don’t know what happened but something changed this team. First of all they become a team. Each man doing his job and not over playing their area.  Maybe Del Rio has finally gotten his message through and they are all pulling together now.

I don’t want to hear any back biting or excuses that is what kills teams. Stick together and we as fans will stick with you too.

JUST REMEMBER IT’S A TEAM and if you do next week and the week after you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

GO JAGUARS   PLAY HARD   HAVE FUN.  AND THEN ENJOY!

THAT'S WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME!

That's why you play the game. You play to win the game as Herm Edwards once said. The folk's at NFL Network and their followers would have the Jaguars already out of contention before they even play any games. Well NFL Network the Jaguars played the game and they won and they won without T. Brady or Peyton Manning or any of your other darlings. While the NFL was telling us how great the Pats are and kept showing meaningless replays of Brady passing to wide open receivers in the snow (over and over and over and over) there was a real game being played in Jacksonville (yes Jacksonville that little hick town in the south) that was a real game. A close game with all kinds of action and ups and downs.A look at the scoreboard shows you what it was all about.
We have had a lot of good exciting games this year. We have had enough good wins to offset the loses that we had a home. These kind of hang in there victories make you a believer again. If you look back at my blog posts earlier in the season you could see that I had given up on Garrard and Del Rio. Maybe it was my advise that turned them around....NOT...I think that some how Del Rio got a message to the team. Maybe that they should not try to do more than their own job and not try to do other guys work. Maybe he told them if you do exactly what we tell you to do you will be OK. I don't know but I think that somehow they got the fundamentals down and when they get away from them they find a way to return to basics. What ever the message they are PLAYING AS A TEAM and you can tell it.
What a great position to be in. Next Sunday we get to play for all the marbles against one to the Darlings of the NFL the Colts. Not many teams get to be in this position and we should really enjoy it and soak it in. We know we can beat Indy so it's not out of range of possible. If the Jags play smart right from the start, instead of waiting until they realize they are off track, it will be a win for sure.
Here are some more photos and videos from the game for those who didn't buy tickets because the Jags were not winning enough or for what ever reason. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. You have to go to the game just like the players have to play the game. That's when things happen. BE THERE !'
A couple of Oakland fans.....yes they are crying.
This couple were the only ones sitting at the great finish. I asked them if they were happy. It was hard to tell. They were reading the scoreboard reports of other games. While every one was dancing and shouting they just sat there. Cute!
On the other side of me these guys were celebrating.
The mascot Jackson DeVille walking on the wall right in front of me

Jackson getting ready to be lifted up to the next level by the fans. In the start of the fourth quarter.

There he goes!
Up Up and Away.
I thought I was going to get a GREAT video here when we sacked the Raider's QB and "Pot Roast" No. 96 picked up the ball and ran it in for a TD but as the play progressed the fans started jumping a screaming and I got hit and almost knocked down by my good friend who got excited. You can see I almost go the play with my cheap little camera. The score didn't count because of a helmet to helmet penalty .
Pre game photos the first is of my favorite Defensive players 93 Alualu and 96 Terrance Knighton alias "Pot Roast:" More pregame shots including the view from my seat NEXT.
Running backs Maurice Jone-Drew   DRRRREEEWWWWW and the best blocking full back in the league Greg Jones.
#35 Deji Karim a great kick return to set up our winning TD.

OK and now for the 'TAIL END"

Thanks for viewing my blog. GO JAGUARS !

WHO WOULD'VE THUNK IT?

Jags 7 and 5 and the Colts 6 and 6 ? Who would've thunk it?
I'll tell you what Garrard and JDR are starting to make a believer out of me. I know I have been really hard on both guys and I am so happy that they are proving me wrong. Go Jags!
Good defense and run the ball how much simpler could it be. It's simple but not the easy to do now a days. If it was easy to do more teams would do it.
The day of hot shot passing like Mannings are quieted today by old school basic football. Run the ball and stop the run.
I love to be wrong and it is now so much fun to watch football again knowing we always have a chance.
Keep hanging in there Jags...you know now you can do it.
