NEW JAGUARS GAME DAY

Today I read some of Mr. Kahn's ideas he has for the Jaguars. I was really impressed, as I have with everything this man has said and done. Maybe I want to believe in him, but whatever I am sold that he is going to make it happen and I'm excited. Go to Jaguars.com  link below and read for yourself.

http://www.jaguars.com/news/article-1/Standing-on-their-own/974b4a79-01e2-4f14-9251-bc33739dc7a4

If I could make one little suggestion to help with the game day experience, of course I am full of ideas, it would be to get an announcer that is unique.  Not like arena football loud and hard rock like but one that knows the game well and has a personality that is entertaining and exciting. Some one who is professional and can relate to the fans. This would be a well spent dollar in my estimation. Maybe two guys like regular games one for color and one for play by play.

He's absolutely correct when he says that the game day experience has to so good that people want to come instead of sitting at home and watching on TV.

I know Mr. Kahn has been asking everyone of their views etc.  Next I hope he reaches out to the fans to get some more thoughts.

In closing I would like to say..........
IF YOU ARE FOR STATUS QUO YOU HAVE TO GO!

FINALLY A GOOD WIN AT HOME.

In the rain of Everbank Filed I had something to smile about.

 Want to buy some fish?

This was not a day to diet. Before the game Sue (see photo) and I had a Sloppy Joe and then later we enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich. You have to eat well on these cold and rainy days you know!
 Sue

The day started off pretty good. It was windy and chilly but no rain and the crowd was ready for a win.
My friends in Row C were feeling goo and I got them to cheer a little.

Charle from Row B was dressed for the occasion , REALLY?  Charley is from near Warren OH and I'm from Oh too but I don't want to catch a cold.
 Then it got ugly.
We got behind by 14 points, it got colder, darker and we thought we were in for another miserable day of losing.
BUT....after another 3 and out we punted and Montell Owens destroyed the punt return guy and a Jag special teams player ran it in for the score. that started the Whole thing.  All of a sudden we were ahead 24 to 14 and there was no looking back as we went on to win 41 to 14.
Gabbert who I have been down on had a great game. He started stepping into his passes and looked like the guy we were expecting all year.

Of course out Main Man MJD had a record setting day surpassing Fred Taylor with the most TD:s for the Jags ever. Here's a video of MJD scoring in our end zone.  COOL!

TODAYS COMMENTS AS THEY HAPPEN

I couldn't believe after all I have said They won the toss and defer to receive the kick off.
Well you all see what happened there. Texans 7 points.
OK now a three and out.

Man do the Jags look terrible. It's embarrassing

Again no heart...the wrong team showed up again. How can they play this bad. NO PRIDE?
OK we are lucky. Did you notice on the run plays that the LB's and DB's just stood there? Don't they know when it's clearly a run and they should come up.  It didn't look like it to me.
Mathias should go. He might be pretty good in a touch football game.

If this is all negative then show me something to be positive about.
This for me to remember this game so I can't be soft soaped later by JDR or anyone from the Jaguars. I can go back to this blog and see what this team really did and didn't do.

OK they're running good or Jennings is, but I'm holding my breath. Sometimes success spoils them. Let's hope they can follow through and score. Well they did it. 7 pints.  Maybe JDR knows that it takes these guys at least a quarter to wake up? If that is so the Defer is OK>>>but I don't like it anyway. The team should always be ready to play..

FYI I'm going back and forth from the big screen in the LR to my Man Cave to type this. Exercise? I guess so.

Jaguars pass defense still can't stop anything.  Another 7 for Texans.  Shame shame shame. Up and down the offense woke up only to have the defense stay asleep.

17    to   7   I am still embarrassed just like earlier this year when they played without heart.

OK I'm just going to watch for awhile. I'll recap later if I don't have to go and throw up.

OK Scobe...... 17 /  10

OK Mercedes     ties up.   It's a shame we had to spot them 17 points..
NOW WAKE UP DEFENSE!

Pass defense still SUCKS !

Texans field goal           20  /17  now.  No I don't think it is great we held them to a field goal. I WANT A STOP OR A TAKE AWAY ON THE 2 MIN DRILL WHEN YOU KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO PASS.

Half Time..

down by 10 again.

I thought JDR told Mike Thomas to run up and get the ball?  We start in the hole again.
No field position for the Jags....another constant.

Another 3 and out........So it's not Garrard but the offensive line and the play calling or not recognizing the blitzes.

Well it's over now 33 / 17 is too much to come back from.  What a shame the wrong Jax team showed up this week.

I'm done too.

See you next year....I don't even want to think about it yet, but that's how it goes. Please note this is before the season even started.

Remember back earlier in the season I said June 30th of this year

THAT'S WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME!

That's why you play the game. You play to win the game as Herm Edwards once said. The folk's at NFL Network and their followers would have the Jaguars already out of contention before they even play any games. Well NFL Network the Jaguars played the game and they won and they won without T. Brady or Peyton Manning or any of your other darlings. While the NFL was telling us how great the Pats are and kept showing meaningless replays of Brady passing to wide open receivers in the snow (over and over and over and over) there was a real game being played in Jacksonville (yes Jacksonville that little hick town in the south) that was a real game. A close game with all kinds of action and ups and downs.A look at the scoreboard shows you what it was all about.
We have had a lot of good exciting games this year. We have had enough good wins to offset the loses that we had a home. These kind of hang in there victories make you a believer again. If you look back at my blog posts earlier in the season you could see that I had given up on Garrard and Del Rio. Maybe it was my advise that turned them around....NOT...I think that some how Del Rio got a message to the team. Maybe that they should not try to do more than their own job and not try to do other guys work. Maybe he told them if you do exactly what we tell you to do you will be OK. I don't know but I think that somehow they got the fundamentals down and when they get away from them they find a way to return to basics. What ever the message they are PLAYING AS A TEAM and you can tell it.
What a great position to be in. Next Sunday we get to play for all the marbles against one to the Darlings of the NFL the Colts. Not many teams get to be in this position and we should really enjoy it and soak it in. We know we can beat Indy so it's not out of range of possible. If the Jags play smart right from the start, instead of waiting until they realize they are off track, it will be a win for sure.
Here are some more photos and videos from the game for those who didn't buy tickets because the Jags were not winning enough or for what ever reason. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. You have to go to the game just like the players have to play the game. That's when things happen. BE THERE !'
A couple of Oakland fans.....yes they are crying.
This couple were the only ones sitting at the great finish. I asked them if they were happy. It was hard to tell. They were reading the scoreboard reports of other games. While every one was dancing and shouting they just sat there. Cute!
On the other side of me these guys were celebrating.
The mascot Jackson DeVille walking on the wall right in front of me

Jackson getting ready to be lifted up to the next level by the fans. In the start of the fourth quarter.

There he goes!
Up Up and Away.
I thought I was going to get a GREAT video here when we sacked the Raider's QB and "Pot Roast" No. 96 picked up the ball and ran it in for a TD but as the play progressed the fans started jumping a screaming and I got hit and almost knocked down by my good friend who got excited. You can see I almost go the play with my cheap little camera. The score didn't count because of a helmet to helmet penalty .
Pre game photos the first is of my favorite Defensive players 93 Alualu and 96 Terrance Knighton alias "Pot Roast:" More pregame shots including the view from my seat NEXT.
Running backs Maurice Jone-Drew   DRRRREEEWWWWW and the best blocking full back in the league Greg Jones.
#35 Deji Karim a great kick return to set up our winning TD.
View from my seat.
OK and now for the 'TAIL END"

Thanks for viewing my blog. GO JAGUARS !

WHO WOULD'VE THUNK IT?

Jags 7 and 5 and the Colts 6 and 6 ? Who would've thunk it?
I'll tell you what Garrard and JDR are starting to make a believer out of me. I know I have been really hard on both guys and I am so happy that they are proving me wrong. Go Jags!
Good defense and run the ball how much simpler could it be. It's simple but not the easy to do now a days. If it was easy to do more teams would do it.
The day of hot shot passing like Mannings are quieted today by old school basic football. Run the ball and stop the run.
I love to be wrong and it is now so much fun to watch football again knowing we always have a chance.
Keep hanging in there Jags...you know now you can do it.

WHAT A FINISH!

THIS IS THE REASON YOU GO TO THE GAME! What a game. Back and forth right to the end. Our guys didn't give up or give in. Our excellent kicker Scobe missed a field goal that could've won the game with about a minute and a half to go but our guys didn't give up and played good defense and then got a turn over.
Everyone was thinking OT but JDR must have told the team to go out swinging because they threw two passes and then with 3 SECONDS TO PLAY the HAIL MARY.
The pass was thrown to the corner of the North End Zone were my seat is and we all thought the DB was in position to catch it or bat it away. Well he batted it alright but not up in the air our of danger but low right to our Mike Thomas who secured the ball and walked right in.
WOW even double WOW. We in the North End Zone feel we never get enough action close to us but baby we got action this time.
The crowd went wild. I had never seen this much yelling and screaming at one of our games. Even the long field goal to beat the Colts earlier with only 5 seconds to go. It was strange to see the defensive players just frozen in time standing right where they were when it happened. Three of them just stood there for what seemed like a few minutes.
On behalf of the Jaguars and the Jaguars TICKET SALES I must say YOU HAD TO BE THERE!

BODY BAG GAME?

I now understand that both QB's are out and they are bringing back egg head sit on the sofa Bouman. This was a horrible game last night but I remember one that was far worse. In 1990 in Nov on a Monday Night game the Eagles knocked out 8 Redskins players and Brian Mitchell had to play QB.

Now we didn't get that many guys hurt but if you count the early departures of fans and the fans who had their hopes dashed again by this crew of notplayers it was still a big mess. At least the Skins had a good reason for losing. What reason did we have?

WHAT IS THAT SMELL?

ONCE AGAIN AFTER FEASTING, ON A BUFFALO, THE JAGUAR HAD NO APPETITE FOR RACCOON the mascot of the Titans
Now I don't know about animal behavior or their eating habits, but I've been told that if a Jaguar eats well it will rest and not eat again for quite a while. I have also been told that during this period of digestion the Jaguar will have a lot of gas and may stink up the whole area where it is resting. Something sure stunk up Everbank Field Monday Night. I think the Jaguars need to be put on a lighter diet. The two next opponents are not a good choice. One is a whole city and the other one is a group of about 50 cowboys.

YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE

This wasn't even the start of a perfect day. The weather was great. I had a Philly Cheese steak at the Team Teal area. Then into the stadium for free fish, calamari, shrimp samples. The free samples of Green Tea drink. The crowd was friendly and even the Colt fans were nice. Not many of them from Indian. Some of them have never even been there. I can't understand this. People from Panama Beach, FL I talked to said they just liked the Colts. Well maybe after the game they might think about changing their allegiance?

It was especially nice to see the Colt fans leave kind of humble after the way the Eagle fans left last week. Well that was last week and this is this week. Off to Buffalo and hope the Jags keep the motor running. No time to lay down and Purrr.

I expect to have a good Monday Night Game two week from now at Everbank. MNF always brings out a lot of folks.

PEOPLE OF JACKSONVILLE.....YOU SAW A GOOD GAME ON TV ..THANKS TO THE LOYAL SEASON TICKET HOLDERS AND GOOD FANS.......BUT YOU MISSED AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE.

GRRRREAT GAME

If you like football you would have loved to be there today as the Jaguars came to life and beat the Colts 31 to 28. Scobe came through with a 59 yard field goal with only 5 seconds left in the game.

A couple of plays before this the Colts took a time out thinking that the Jags could or would not do anything and would try to settle for a tie and hope that they could do something in OT. Well guess again Colts, we actually did something and it was great plays to get us to the 41 yard line and kick the winning field goal in regulation.

The Jags ran the ball well and ever David ran the ball with a sort of option look. OMG how long have I been begging them to use him this way?  The game could have been over earlier and we could have won it 28 to 21 but the corner back #31 David Jones couldn't hold on to the interception.....Whew that was such a great play but he just couldn't get control of the ball.

More comments tomorrow....I'm too tired right now.

COLTS VS JAGUARS

WHICH JAGUAR WILL SHOW UP TODAY?

This is always the question everyone has. What Jaguar team will show up. Will it be the timid, touch football guys or the aggressive guys that tackle well and play smart and keep the WR's from getting behind them?

We'll just have to wait and see. The Jags I have seen this year are either very aggressive, without a plan, or too timid and thinking too much.

If the Jags win the coin toss and defer to the second half you know that is the end of the game. The Colts will march down field and score and we will be behind and never catch up. What does differing say? It says we have no offense and we need the ball in the second half when we get are warmed up a bit and can maybe then produce a score.

If the Jags accept the to receive after winning the coin toss it maybe a differing day, that is if they pull some plays out of the bag and pass on first down, do option plays and roll out for runs or passes.

FINAL SCORE COLTS 27  JAGUARS 17

VS PHILLY IMPRESSIONS

First two offensive possessions were terrible and made me sick to my stomach. Same old plays, same old Garrard, same old throwing short. Sick Sick
Defense looks ok but still waiting to see if they give up because the offense doesn't show.
WHY DID I BUY 3 YEARS OF SEASON TICKETS?
Defense is OK...I feel they will come together. The offense still stinks but now they have tow weapons Jones-Drew and Mike Thomas. Simms Walker the jury is still out. Where is Zack Miller ?

OK back to the game.

LUKE LUKE LUKE the crowd asks for Luke to take over the starting job.

Again the crowd wants LUKE LUKE LUKE....AND YES ANOTHER TD!

DAVID WHO?

What is wrong with Scobee? Is he hurt? 17 yard line and 15 yard line???

It's amazing how much more I am relaxed when David is not in the game. I'll say it again,,I like David but he is not a number 1 QB. If he was used in a different way , with a lot of running plays he might do better. But I am tired of telling people because the Jags are not listening.

A while back I wrote about all the LB's on this team and then they got some more. Maybe they know what they are doing. I like Gilbert and the work of the others.

LUKE LUKE LUKE..........OH MAN THIS IS WHAT WE NEED...AND THIS WILL SELL TICKETS.

Nine minutes to go.........look for a call for Luke next week at the home game as we play Miami.
