I'm happy that the lock out is over and the season can start. I really look forward to the games.
My eye sight has worsend because the dry MD went to wet MD, but I'm getting treatment and I would'nt miss a game even though I can't see much of what is happening.
So what is your excuse for not getting season tickers????
I am dissapointed in the folks here in JAX but more frustrated about the NFL NETWORK. NFL never even mentions the Jags unless is about not selling tickets. They have galked about the top QB piccks but not Blaine.
Poor Wayne he gets no respect...but I love the guy and trust the guy. BUY YOUR TICKETS SO THE SO CALLED FANS CAN SIT HOME AND WATCH US ALL THE WAY TO THE SUPER BOWL
please excuse any spelling errors .

A GUN SLINGER?
After watching this and other highlight video clips of our new QB I think that we have a "Gun Slinger".
Man he's not afraid to pull the trigger and I like that. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

NEW ERA STARTS WITH SURPRISE
2011 NFL DRAFT Jaguar fans get a real surprise with the trade up to pick Blaine Gabbert at No. 10.
I am happy with the pick and I think most fans are. We need a franchise QB if we want to win the division.
I believe he is the man. He fits Jacksonville as a blue collar kind of guy. My wish is for this to be a blue collar kind of team that brings their lunch and works hard.
Welcome Blaine and we will support you.

Shotgun or Pistol formation?
Recently I made a comment about QB Colin Kaepernick and the Pistol Formation that he ran at Nevada. I think this is the formation we should use even with Garrard at QB this coming year.
I have always believed that the closer to the line of scrimmage the hand off is made to the RB the more success the run will be. Like the quick opener or quick count. For several years I have seen the Jags run for one yard after the QB goes back to the RB to hand it off. In the stands everyone knows, OK this will be for one yard.
I believe that on running plays the initial block of the OL is where you can do something, not after one or two seconds of trying to hold that block. When will we ever learn. Some things do not work and to me are a waste of a play. I hate it and we have to change and throw out plays like that no matter what they think it does for setting up something else. A play wasted is a play wasted simple as that.
Think of it the “hurry up offense” and the “no huddle” is also popular and the fans always say why not do that earlier in the game. OK maybe we can’t do it for the whole game but a modified version of it from the “pistol” maybe something we can incorporate.
I even like the Steelers version better if the QB is tall. It's closer to the line like the formation calls for 3 to 4 yards deep.
By the way I suggest that the Jags draft Colin Kaepernick in the later rounds if available. He fits the bill on big tall QB's that teams have had success with.

CONTINUITY
Continuity that is the reason to keep Tucker and Koetter. I believe that we have missed that in past years with coaches leaving or being fired. JDR has gone through too much of this and I for one want the team to stay together one more year. There is a lot to be said for continuity and if you look at some of the good teams they have keep everyone in the fold.
Gene and Jack did a great job of getting the players to be a TEAM and now maybe they can improve what they had instead of having to learn a new system from a new coach.
Listen I have many doubts about this team and I picked them to go 8 / 8 last year in June. This year I am picking them to go 9 / 7 here in Jan. I may change that again in June or July depending on the draft and training camp to 10 / 6, any record above this will be wonderful. Hopefully it will be enough to get us into the play-offs.
It's strange that I'm writing this because I have been one of JDR and his coaching staffs biggest critics.
Anyway I'm in for another year with bright spots being Special Teams. New play makers with another year of experience namely Jennings, Hill, Lewis, Alualu, Knighton, Cox and maybe Zack Miller. Oh yeah and the return of Kampman.
I could end up wrong and disappointed, but then it wasn't my decision to keep Jack anyway. All I can do is go with it and try to hope for something positive.
If they do good and get into maybe even the second round the I wouls say they may even do better the next year.
Look for an update after the draft and free agency.
