WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

  • 1. The vision. The type of offense and defense we want and need to have to be successful in the AFC Soth. what type of offense and defense will best compete against teams in our division? I have my choices but it's not for me to choose,is it? Ok If you insist I would go with a ball control west coast type offense and a 3/4 defense which is the best system to stop a move the chains offense. Best to cover screens and tight ends.
    2. Once this has been decided then we can move on to the Head Coach and all other coaches, scouts and football related staff, and not until step on is a solid vision. with this said I believe that MM can still be the Head Coach, but I think all other coaches will still be up in the air until a joint decision of who can fit this new vision.
    3. Players we have and players we need can then be evaluated once step 1 and 2 are inplace. there is no sense talking about Tebow or anyone else unless he fits the new vision. I of course have my ideas about what current players WON'T fit the new direction.
    4. Players I feel won't fit new vision, since you asked. You did ask right? Any player too slow or can not get separation from defenders and may be a bit awkward. Good bye M. Lewis. No need for a full back anymore Good bye G. Jones. Good bye to non performers Jennings. Good bye to Meester. Goodby to Alualu and maybe another D linman. In a 3/4 we will need three very big and strong defenders. Babin my move to outside LB. We have good safeties but need more tall and strong ones to coave TE's . \

Thats a pretty good start .

PLEASE MR. KAHN
Please Mr. Kahn don't rush into this GM job. Really the GM from the Falcons? Maybe the guy from the San Fran but what the heck is this Atlanta connection? I wish you would think outside the box more.

There are few choices I have been thinking about. The first one to come to mind is Ton Coughlin. I know he is set at NY but maybe he's ready to do more than just coaching. Look back at the team he put together for the Jaguars as a brand new team. We all realize that it was a mistake to let him go after only a couple of bad years while rebuilding. I would trust this guy to choose the right Head Coach and players. He only made one mistake and that was RJ Sours. That could have made by anyone.  Ton has connections locally and to me he is the best fit for this city and team.  AAA rating.

Now thinking out of the box a little more I would suggest if there is no current GM available that has a very very good record like that of Green Bay or Pittsburgh then let's think about a youth movement.  Let's look for a young and energetic top scout that is looking to bring new ideas and a vision to Jacksonville. Maybe a scout with ambitions from Green Bay or Pittsburgh or even New England.  I wish I knew of such a person but I'm sure there is someone out there. Although I'm not sold on NFL Network guys maybe there is someone there that studies the players etc. night and day and has a keen sense of management.  Another option maybe a top college Athletic Director. Maybe.

GUILT BY ASSOCIATION

Sure I along with others were calling for Gene to go but in my case it was mostly because he was the last piece left over from all the bad choices made in getting and drafting players.  However he did do pretty good this past year when he seemed to be more in charge.

Maybe the choice of Gabbert was his final and biggest mistake and even then I wonder how much JDR had to do with that.  I suspect that because of the way that WW set up his chain of command it didn't allow for a strong GM but more of a group reporting to the owner. I hope that Mr. Kahn follow the a system that seems to work better for a lot of teams and that is Owner .. GN...Head Coach.

The new GM should be the main man who has the authority  and responsibility.
Under the new GM would be all of the football operations of coaches, players and scouts etc.

What do we want and what is the model we can follow?  simply this, we want what Green Bay has, we want what Pittsburgh's has, we want what an organization that gets good players and coaches and sticks with them as a family would. to have good players who want to stay year after year and are unselfish and think TEAM. Look at the teams that produce and win every year. What sets them apart?  It's not just money it's the way the organization is put together. I have to admit that I don't know what does it, but I want it. Mr. Kahn should study hard the operations of New England, New York and other perennials winners and follow their model.

Any way good luck to Gene Smith and don't be surprised if he does really well at his next team because he may have learned a lot from being here in Jax.

FEELING EMPTY

I'll tell you how bad it is, I'm making this post at the begging of the 4th Quarter. I'm way beyond upset or angry or even disappointed. It's just a very very empty feeling. This is the toughest loss of the whole season because it is someone we should have been competitive with. but to get blown out like this 38 to 14 so far is unacceptable TOTALLY.

The only left to do is to trade the whole team for another team because there are so many holes to fill on this team it will take years to put a team together.

Every single player drafted or picked up during the Gene Smith era has been a flop, a failure and an average at best player. OK OK MJD is the exception. I don't care if some of them have played well at times, none of them are fit for top quality.

Since we can't trade all our players for another teams players we will at least get rid of the following players and the GM. Direct firing or by trade.

Fire Gene Smith, Mel Tucker and the Special Teams coach also the running backs coach and a complete review of all assistant coaches. go with youth.

Trade or waive  Gabbert, Monroe, Briton, Alualu, Meester, M. Lewis, Mathis, and a lot of others to numerous to think of off hand.

If I didn't like NFL football so much and going to the games on Sundays I would say this is the last straw and I am sure there will be a lot of folks that where that will be true and they won't renew.

Our new Slogan is not ALL IN but it is

IF YOU'RE NOT TRUE DON'T RENEW.

or to put a positive spin on it

IF YOU ARE TRUE
YOU WILL RENEW !

Renewing one not four seats this year sorry Kahn

IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?

If you didn't know it The Jacksonville Jaguars were really sick and needed help. The medical bills were too large to handle and no one knew what the real illness was. How could we get a true diagnosis and how would we pay for treatment?

Destiny was on our side. There was good Karma out there waiting to rescue this football team. A new doctor in town, Mr. Kahn , who believed it was his opportunity to help save a dying business. With enough funds and smart business senses Kahn set off with determination to heal the business. He hired top executives and managers who were known to be the best in this area of sickness.

He made many changes that most people didn't even notice. Sound equipment better announcers lifter restrictions on food being brought in. He hired more security and service people to assist fans. He kept prices in line and easy payment plans. He made Jaguars.com to be a home for fans to get info and interviews and videos that fans never had before. These were all good things, but now the attending physician had to set out to actually do the hard work of fixing the team's playing abilities. This was going to be hard. It couldn't be business as usual. There were some players that were infected badly and had to get special treatment and therapy (like sitting on a bench).

This assignment was given to a specialist Mike Mularkey and his staff. They patiently examined each member and started making notes. Now the sickness was not easy to cure, it would take time and a lot of painful episodes including losing games. Slowly those who had good vision could see things starting to take effect. Some symptoms were going away and some were improving. There was a great healing taking place. A lot of the onlookers (fans) could only see the illness in terms of a final score, they didn't realize that they must be patient and look at every little cure is leading to a final healing of the whole.

BEST WISHES FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY

TURNED THE CORNER?

We will find out today when we play Detroit (my birth place). I think we have turned the corner, but that doesn't mean we are going to start winning consistently , it just means we should make every game a contest or a battle if you please.

Anyway there is no place else I would rather be on Sunday.

Go Jags !
