There has been a lot of talk about the game day experience being improved to attract fans. They spent money on upgrading the speaker system which is fine but the same old announcer has got to go. Half the time he doesn't know what down it is and he adds no color at all the the experience. The only think he can come up with is "and it's good for a Jacksonville First Down" That is getting really OLD.
Answer the questions that you hear fans asking in the stands. "Who caught that"? Who was that? What did he say?
The updated sound system is obviously not part of the announcers system or you could hear him. Even if the play by play is not perfect you would think the guy would at least add some color. He doesn't have to act like a cheerleader. If he shows some excitement and knowledge of the plays and people involved the crowd will to the WOW.
In my time I have been to Redskins games and Brown's games but I can't remember the play by play being so boring and with out basic information on the play etc.
Everyone knows how much the play by play and color comments mean to a baseball game or even on TV football. It has made men famous. Now think about this: What if you was listening to the game on radio? Would you know what was going on? NO but yet you can see far less at the Game then you can on TV.
IMPORTANT? YES IN DEED IT IS. Fans in D.C, still turn the TV sound off and listen to the play by play and color on the radio with Sonny, Sam and the gang. THINK ABOUT THAT MR. KAHN PLEASE!
